Machine-model & render

Some renders of speed model I built earlier this week, the object was clean but high poly, inspired by a couple of images I saw of machinery modelling.Click and check out full size to see the detail better,I still have to experiment with rendering styles an ambient pass and shaders materials.

Sci-fi progress #2

Couple more stills of high poly sci-fi hall concept, modelled in Maya. The scenes running a bit slow on my laptop so rendering the scenes going to be a pain and I'm holding back on adding props.

High-poly Sci-fi concept

Speed model work in progress of a sci-fi scene I'm working on,going for a really smooth look and not worrying about poly count to much, makes a change from worrying about what game engines can handle.

Random modelling

Work in Progress of quick model generator, inspired by some random googling this is mostly just a warm up for some major modelling projects.

Jewellery - Model & Render

My last couple of post I was exploring different styles of art in 2D and 3D and looking at abstracting some shapes,it got me thinking about smaller sculptural shapes and for some reason I ended up with ring and necklace designs in my head.Spent an hour building some different parts and testing out shaders for a gem/diamond surface and then quickly modelled a ring design in Maya, fairly happy with the results and can see where to improve for my next attempt.

Abstract design experiment

Last two days I tried 3D and 2D fractal / generative work, decided to try doing some abstract modelling today.Using Maya primitives and throwing in linear bends and doing a lot of smoothing these two scenes took just 5 Min's each to model,it was just a fun simple way of playing about in 3D that I normally wouldn't try.

Fractals

Some more experiments using fractal software, this time using the free program Apophysis . I'm undecided what I think of Fractal art, although creating an image can take a lot of time and experimenting sometimes the outcome seems to be more luck than anything else.

About 20 mins of playing around with the fractal flames,Click to view HD.

First,basic attempt.
