Speed model work in progress of a sci-fi scene I'm working on,going for a really smooth look and not worrying about poly count to much, makes a change from worrying about what game engines can handle.

Random modelling
Work in Progress of quick model generator, inspired by some random googling this is mostly just a warm up for some major modelling projects.

Jewellery - Model & Render
My last couple of post I was exploring different styles of art in 2D and 3D and looking at abstracting some shapes,it got me thinking about smaller sculptural shapes and for some reason I ended up with ring and necklace designs in my head.Spent an hour building some different parts and testing out shaders for a gem/diamond surface and then quickly modelled a ring design in Maya, fairly happy with the results and can see where to improve for my next attempt.

Abstract design experiment
Last two days I tried 3D and 2D fractal / generative work, decided to try doing some abstract modelling today.Using Maya primitives and throwing in linear bends and doing a lot of smoothing these two scenes took just 5 Min's each to model,it was just a fun simple way of playing about in 3D that I normally wouldn't try.

Fractals
Some more experiments using fractal software, this time using the free program Apophysis . I'm undecided what I think of Fractal art, although creating an image can take a lot of time and experimenting sometimes the outcome seems to be more luck than anything else.

Experimental art
Finally got some free time and decided to get away from UV mapping and modelling and try playing around with some experimental art software.First up I tried some 3D fractal/generative work, this is basically a model built using numbers/code.Here's my first attempt...

Review: Crazy Bump
Looking for a normal map maker? then sooner or later you will find CrazyBump, simply because its one of the easiest to use and quickest ways of generating normal, specularity, occlusion and displacement maps.Load the image you want and there's a list of sliders to increase details, intensity etc and that's it done. The layout is clean and simple and you can learn everything in 5 Min's.There are also extra options for batch processing images and you can preview the maps in 3D,worth trying for sure.
